All processing industries generate waste. The quantities generated and their potential impacts depend on many factors, including the level of industrial development, the way in which wastes are managed, the existing state of the local environment and the capacity of the receiving media.

The output of a Lead Recycling Plant can be categorized in to following standard forms:

  • Solids - It is defined as the final by-product that is obtained after 2-3 run of the waste generated after recycling of fresh Lead bearing material. Sludge is obtained at the end of the process containing less then 2.5% of Lead content in it which is non – leach able in nature. These are to be disposed at proper Government approved Areas.

  • Liquids - No Liquid waste is generated in our plant setup as we are using water for treatment of SOX gases which is further neutralized and re-circulated with in the system. Thus no drainage as effluents.

  • Gases - The gases & fumes generated in the system are effectively controlled by the Pollution control Equipments. The amount of Lead content that flue with these gases are being collected at every stage of pollution control equipments.
    • SOX – Sulphur content present in the gases are being treated with water
    • CO, Lead Dust, Lead Ash etc. – These are controlled by different sections of Pollution Control Equipments.
    • NOX – In our case of operation, No Nitrogenous components are produced because of the lower level of temperatures.

Treatment System

In the process of Smelting the raw material is heated/ burn out directly with the Burner Flames and leads to generation of Fumes and gases. Thus in order to capture and treat these harmful gases and dust, a strong and proven system is required. In Lead melting/ Recycling system we provide the following equipments in series for Pollution Control Equipment:

  • Chimney

Air Emission control & Management

The Air Emission management plan will address the following aspects:

  • Management programme for in-plant sources of air emission.
  • Operations and maintenance programme for air emission control systems.
  • Air Emissions Monitoring Programme.

Air Pollution: The Lead Smelting Process (Pyrometallurgical) generates Lead Dust, Lead Ash, SO2, CO etc. which is being controlled by our Pollution Control Equipments. Our plant confirms Ambient Air norm for Lead as 1.0 ug/m3 (24 hours).

Noise Emission Control & Management

The Noise control & management plan will address the following aspects:

  • Monitoring & control of machinery Noise.
  • Monitoring & control of Noise Emitted by transport vehicles.

Noise Pollution: Since very few rotating equipments generate noise, the possibility of noise pollution occurring at the work place has been taken into account. Our plant confirms the maximum noise level limit as 65 dB at day time and maximum of 55 dB in night time at plant perimeter.
